🫀 Re-start: When your brain says 'enough' so you can carry on
A reflection on mental saturation and the importance of switching off.

Hello again! today I am here to tell you what happens when the screen goes off and the mind collapses (mine)
🌪️ The “information overload” loop
Before the holidays, I went into a dangerous mode: every free second went on a YouTube video, a FastAPI tutorial or trying to replicate SQL classes without a break.
Conclusion: Mental oversaturation, level one thousand. 🤯
The result: The Christmas holidays arrived, I decided (finally) to switch off… and when I came back, boom! I felt like I had forgotten everything.
🌑 The black cloud and impostor syndrome
My 2026 did not start with fireworks. I found myself trapped in a black cloud of dust:
I am finding it incredibly hard to get back into the rhythm.
Negative thoughts (“the market is hostile”, “I am not cut out for this”) beat the positive ones hands down.
I lack perspective: if someone told me my own story (family, children, bootcamp, work), I would say: “Wow, that is incredible!”. But when it is about me, I do not feel deserving of any credentials at all. 🏷️🚫
🛑 Stopping is not failing
I have realised that my mind needed those holidays for what they are: holidays. The IT world is immense and sometimes we convince ourselves that if we stop for a second, the train leaves without us. But the reality is that if we do not stop, the engine burns out.
🌈 Why do I choose to carry on?
Even though today I feel vulnerable and the world seems a difficult place, I choose to keep trying.
Because I am proud to be here.
Because I have a family that supports me.
Because, even if today I see “clouds”, I know that everything I learned is still underneath them.
Sometimes, re-programming our own mind is harder than any line of code in JavaScript. 💛
And with that, I am closing this very necessary reflection. My next post will be about the process, about the “hows” and the “what I am learning”, unless my mind decides otherwise and asks me for another pause to reconnect! 😉
